Item 1 of 2
Rooted and raised in St. Mary’s County, August is a young, Black, resource organizer, blue crab lover, and founder of Mosaic. He began organizing during his first few years in undergrad around trans student housing, sports, programming, retention and success. After a few years of organizing around HIV policy, prevention, and destigmatization, he shifted entirely to the development of trans-led organizations. August committed to a culture of storytelling, fundraising, and exploring solidarity economies to mobilize resources to Black folks.
